Former New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo was appointed as St Louis' head coach in January 2009. Spagnuolo's defense was responsible for the Giants' incredible Super Bowl XLII victory over the New England Patriots in February 2008, and the Rams will hope he can work a similar magic on their recently under-achieving team.

Team Info

The Rams are another team that has called several cities home since making their NFL debut in 1937. Cleveland was home from 1937 to 1945 before the club moved to Los Angeles from 1946 to 1979. Anaheim played host to the Rams from 1980 to 1994 before the team moved to St. Louis, where they currently reside. They have won two NFL championships and have appeared in three Super Bowls, winning in 2000 but ending on the losing side in 1980 and 2002. The past few seasons have not been kind to the Rams, after an NFC-worst 2007 record of 3-13 and a 0-4 start to the 2008 season Scott Linehan was fired and assistant coach Jim Haslett named the interim head coach. However, Haslett did not impress during his short stint with the club, and the Rams turned to ex-New York Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo to fill the head coaching vacancy. With a relatively young roster, Spagnuolo has a solid nucleus from which to build a Championship-challenging team.
