After throwing for 3,693 yards and 21 touchdowns, Cassel was traded to the Chiefs and rewarded with a multi-million dollar deal. Team Info
The club began life as the Dallas Texans in 1960 before becoming the Kansas City Chiefs in 1963. Under the guidance of head coach Hank Stram, the Chiefs won their one and only Super Bowl in 1970 when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings. Kansas City rode a high-powered offense into the playoffs for the first time since the 1997 campaign in 2003 and returned again in 2006 - Herman Edwards' first year as head coach - losing to Indianapolis in the Wild Card round of the postseason. The Chiefs are currently in rebuilding mode after posting a 4-12 mark in 2007 and going 2-14 during a 2008 campaign in which they suffered several close losses. With Todd Haley patrolling the sidelines and Matt Cassel under center, Chiefs fans have reason to believe better days lie ahead.
