Wade Phillips has a long and successful coaching pedigree. He has been a football coach in the NFL for 31 years and a head coach for six full seasons. He was hired by the Dallas Cowboys in 2007 and led them to an outstanding 13-3 regular season record only to fall in the divisional round to the future Super Bowl Champion New York Giants. In 2008 the team recorded a 9-7 record and missed out on the post-season.

Tony Romo was an un-drafted free agent who waited on the bench for three seasons to finally get his first start, but since then he has not looked back. Romo has been selected to two Pro Bowls and in October 2007 signed a new six-year contract with the team to be their franchise quarterback. Romo is currently dating U.S. pop sensation Jessica Simpson.

The Cowboys are the NFL equivalent of Manchester United - very successful over the years but not very well liked by other fans around the league. The Cowboys labeled themselves 'America's Team,' but it is not a sentiment shared outside of Texas. However, the Cowboys have been extremely successful, winning five of the record eight Super Bowls in which they have appeared. After three Super Bowl victories in the 1990s, the Cowboys have not been able to muster a return to the big game in the new millennium. Legendary NFL head coach Bill Parcells led them to the play-offs in two of his three seasons at the helm, but he stepped down in January 2007, to be replaced by Wade Phillips who took them to a 13-3 record and another playoff berth. Although Dallas missed out on the playoffs in 2008 with a 9-7 record, with Tony Romo at quarterback and talent across the roster the Cowboys are one of the favorites to achieve Super Bowl glory in 2009.
