Fantasy Two Minute Warning - Week 15

Let’s get straight to your latest helping of injury and depth chart news from around the NFL:

  • Detroit WR Calvin Johnson was limited with a knee issue on Thursday but will be full-go on Sunday as he attempts to move closer to Jerry Rice’s single season receiving record. The Lions are determined to help him get it.
  • Jacksonville RB Montell Owens will start in Week 15 with Rashad Jennings (concussion) ruled out. He played well against New York last week, but gets a stiffer test this weekend in Miami.
  • St. Louis WR Danny Amendola was limited on Thursday thanks to an ongoing foot injury. It’s expected he’ll again be a game-time decision.
  • Baltimore RB Ray Rice (hip) was limited in Thursday’s practice. He should nonetheless play on Sunday and might see an uptick in chances post-Cam Cameron.
  • Miami WR Davone Bess missed practice Thursday with a back issue. It’s thought he might not be available this weekend, though the situation bears watching.
  • Dallas WR Dez Bryant has a fractured finger that - as of Wednesday - was considered potentially season-ending. The outlook has since improved to the degree that Bryant might well play on Sunday, albeit with the finger taped up. Keep a close eye on his status in Friday’s practice, but he’ll get an ample share of targets if he does suit up.
  • Chicago QB Jay Cutler was practicing on Thursday. The quarterback has stated multiple times he’ll play versus the Packers despite ongoing neck and knee issues.
  • Atlanta WR Roddy White has already been determined a game-time decision for Week 15. He has not practiced this week. Should he go, he’d be a tempting play in a potentially high scoring matchup with the Giants. Conversely, his absence would be a boost for Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez.
  • Jacksonville WR Cecil Shorts III was limited on Thursday with a lingering concussion, but has been cleared to play on Sunday. That said, Shorts has made no guarantee he’ll suit up, and the situation bears watching.
  • Washington QB Robert Griffin III’s status is still up in the air as he recovers from a knee sprain. It’s thought head coach Mike Shanahan will avoid stating publicly if Griffin will be active for as long as possible, but team observers guess he will play. Keep track of updates right up until game-time.
  • New York Giants RB Ahmad Bradshaw is dealing with a knee injury and it’s unknown at this point to what extent - if any - he’ll take part in Week 15. Rookie David Wilson is expected to see an increase in touches even if Bradshaw plays, but the situation should grow clearer as the weeks progresses. Should Wilson be anointed starter, he’d be a very enticing play against the Falcons.
  • Green Bay WR Jordy Nelson missed Thursday’s practice with an ongoing hamstring injury. He’s considered unlikely to play on Sunday, leaving Randall Cobb and slowly-improving Greg Jennings to pick up the slack.
  • Detroit TE Brandon Pettigrew missed practice on Thursday and is questionable to play on Sunday versus Arizona.
  • Indianapolis RB Vick Ballard will be the Colts’ bell-cow back against Houston in Week 15. Reserves Donald Brown and Delone Carter are nicked up, leaving Ballard with a potentially significant increase in looks.
  • Kansas City WR Dwayne Bowe has not been placed on injured reserve, as previously reported, but won’t suit up for Week 15. Second year receiver Jonathan Baldwin will operate as the de facto number one receiver.
